Probate
From registering deaths to Inheritance Tax returns and estate accounts we are able to assist at every stage.
Probate can be a protracted matter, particularly where a property forms part of the estate. However, we try to deal with the process as quickly as possible. Our costs in the majority of estates that we deal with range from £2,500 – £3,000 + VAT. We do not charge a percentage of the estate value.
Broadly speaking we charge for our time (and responsibility, in large estates) and use an hourly rate of £450 per hour + VAT.
Wills & Lasting Powers Of Attorney

Lasting Powers Of Attorney
Increasingly relevant, a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) allows a donor to entrust others (one or more people) with the powers to manage or make decisions relating to Finance & Property or Health & Welfare on their behalf. These are very powerful but also very useful documents.

We offer high-quality & personal legal services
to our clients.
We offer a personal service, our Solicitors speak to all clients directly on the telephone. We also have an excellent team of staff that have been well-trained and with us for some years, they are on hand Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm to liaise with clients when our Solicitors are dealing with other matters.
Since the arrival of Covid-19, we are limiting direct contact with clients whilst still keeping business moving. Where absolutely necessary, e.g. the witnessing of signatures for documents, we welcome clients to visit the office, which offers parking and an electric car charger.
Professionalism and competence are paramount and increasingly speed and efficiency are part of those goals. We are now able to deal with many matters electronically and where we once relied on snail mail and faxes we now use email and scanned documents where possible to speed up our clients’ matters. We also visit clients at home or in hospitals if that is what is required
We are a family business and while we have evolved to embrace modern technology we hold dear the basic values of honesty, helpfulness and decency that Margaret Frame found success with in the 1950’s. We hope to continue to form professional relationships with clients based on mutual trust and respect that last decades.
